AOL last week dread hit the e-mail marketing industry when it rolled out a new version of its AOL.com and AIM.com free e-mail services that automatically block images by default. Gmail and many other web based emails already do this to one degree or another.

This means: Paying a company to mount an email campaign for your restaurant will now have even less results then before. The average person will leave the image block on and most email marketer use images to market with and track with.

I have a number of restaurants email me their
email campaign and my spam filters always tag it as spam. I have never sign up for these emails, I guess since I am in the business of promoting dining out they figure I want there ad.
